Frequently asked questions
- Why is the 2-year rate sometimes lower than the 1-year rate?
- When banks expect rates to fall, they do not offer more for longer terms. The rate per term, in the term selector above the list, shows how that looks right now.
- How is the return over two years calculated?
- With credited interest your balance grows each year, with paid-out interest it does not. The return shown for each deposit is the total over two years; the effective annual rate makes it comparable with other terms.
- Is my money protected for the whole term?
- Yes. The deposit guarantee applies as long as the money is at the bank, up to €100,000 per person per bank, including accrued interest.
