Notice accounts
Accounts where you announce a withdrawal in advance, for example 30 or 90 days ahead. In return the rate is often higher than for instant-access saving, without locking your money for years.

Frequently asked questions
- What is a notice period?
- The number of days between your withdrawal request and the moment the money becomes available. During that period you usually still earn interest.
- Is a notice account better than a deposit?
- It sits in between: more flexible than a deposit, but with a variable rate that can fall. Compare the effective annual rate with that of a one-year deposit.
- Can I still withdraw immediately in an emergency?
- Usually not, or only with a loss of interest. The bank's conditions are stated for each account.
