When do you want access to your money?

The longer you can do without your money, the more interest a bank usually pays. Pick what fits your plans; you can always go back.

  • Always instantlyAn instant-access savings account. You can take your money out any day, but the bank may change the rate at any moment.
  • Within a few monthsAn account with a notice period: you announce a withdrawal 31 to 90 days ahead and usually get a little more interest for it.
  • In a yearA one-year deposit. The rate is fixed and early withdrawal is usually not possible.
  • In 2 to 3 yearsA two or three year deposit. Longer usually pays more today, and ties your money up for longer.
  • In 5 years or laterA deposit of five years or more. The highest fixed rate, but your money is out of reach all that time.
