Not advice. Rates are gross, per year and as published by the provider. Variable rates can change. Outbound links may earn a commission; that never affects the order or the calculation.

Guided choice

Three questions, one at a time, and you see which savings account or deposit earns most in your situation, with the reasons. It is the same ranking as the comparison, only with your answers as filters. Not advice, but an honest start.

Question 2 of 3← Previous question

When do you want access to your money?

The longer you can do without your money, the more interest a bank usually pays. Pick what fits your plans; you can always go back.

  • Always instantlyAn instant-access savings account. You can take your money out any day, but the bank may change the rate at any moment.
  • Within a few monthsAn account with a notice period: you announce a withdrawal 31 to 90 days ahead and usually get a little more interest for it.
  • In a yearA one-year deposit. The rate is fixed and early withdrawal is usually not possible.
  • In 2 to 3 yearsA two or three year deposit. Longer usually pays more today, and ties your money up for longer.
  • In 5 years or laterA deposit of five years or more. The highest fixed rate, but your money is out of reach all that time.
